In the Old West era, Union Pacific train engineers and railroad workers wore distinctive overalls, caps and work jackets made from hickory stripe before boiler suits were invented in the early 20th century.  In modern times, the striped engineer cap remains part of the uniform of American train drivers.

The Hickory Stripe we use has to be an America Classic. To us that means it is an America staple from the start and ages gracefully. This 10oz made by USA Mount Vernon Mills, has a plain weave and is a very solid fabric. This fabric is the starting point for all American workwear. It is Sanforized, and there will be some stretch and shrinkage, but not as much as a denim weave. It’s truly an America Classic.

The images are examples of the 10oz Hickory Stripe with White thread color.

We added the Navy 12oz. Mt. Vernon Mills USA Duck Canvas as an accent to the Hickory Stripe. Also included are the chest pockets for your phone, pencil and small bits. In addition, a Kangaroo style front pocket, copper rivets secure each stress point. . All this is cut and sewn in the great State of Texas.

This apron can be used on your weekend BBQ party, as your workshop apron    [ as we do here at the shop] or if you are a bar owner we can have these customized for your bar for you needs.
